BIO

Nancy Gorman, releasing under the pseudonym NOVA Halo with a revolving live collective, is a self-managed singer, songwriter/musician, amateur astronomer, independent pilot, cirque artist and couturier at www.astralapparel.co.uk

Composing from the maritime metropolis of Greenwich [South East London], her music is self-described as alt pop. Incorporating shoegaze, symphonic rock, multi-national folk and power pop elements- combined with her characteristically cryptic lyrics and flamboyant visuals.

NOVA Halo made their live debut frequenting cabaret and burlesque production intervals [a perhaps natural progression from aerial circus training and grassroots open mic scene origins]. Sparking headline shows and festival invites from radio DJs and LGBTQ+ Pride committee members, eventually earning the attention of local promoters.  With notable appearances at historic London venues so far including The Water Rats, Soho's Phoenix Artist Bar, Soho's St. Moritz Club, The Portland Arms, and the legendary 100 Club. Festival slots to date include the East of England Burlesque Festival, The Honeysuckle Revue, both Northumberland & Dover's first ever Pride protests, and East Sussex's Faerie Festival [indicating mainstream and alternative subculture spanning appeal].

NOVA Halo's debut release saw the AEROTROPOLIS trilogy;  including the celestial quasi-operatic ballad 'Astral Plane', upbeat ethereal pop-punk hymn 'Angel Eggz' and the harrowing space opera 'Steel Halo'. Gaining international attention from London to Nashville, and since attracting collaborations with industry professionals such as Andy Cousin [All About Eve, The Mission] Will Crewdson [Scant Regard, Rachel Stamp, Adam Ant] and Tom Monks [9 Below Zero, Breaking News].

Since the debut AEROTROPOLIS song trilogy, several standalone singles have been released, including Star Jewel Baby & XX Dream, with many to come.
