Sanctuary

I washed up strung out on the shore

My heavy heart split and raw

My hands stained bloodied

By the remnants of terminated dreams

I lay back and softly succumb

Willful surrender to delta waves

Relieve me of waking world exhaust

In temporary sanctuary

You were there in my dream

A band in an elevated velvet box

Innocent alliance, our fingers interlock

I couldn't hear them over your touch

Over the slow flooding euphoria inside me

Shy telepathy, melancholy, bittersweet

You sunk into my subconscious

The magnetic space that emanates from you

I'll let it swallow me, and fulfill that prophecy

Missing a face I'd never known

Waiting to collide with his bones

In our surrender by rapture's arrest

Under the influence we undress

You were there in my dream

A band in an elevated velvet box

Innocent alliance, our fingers interlock

I couldn't hear them over your touch

Over the slow flooding euphoria inside me

Come elevate me from mundanity

Anaesthetise me with your anatomical lullaby

In the hot glowing red lining of our summer chrysalis
